LET US TELL YOUR STORY

Are you sitting comfortably? Then we’ll begin… Once upon a time…

Are the words we would hear as children and are the same words that we say to our children today. From an early age we are told these stories, to keep us entertained and they always start by setting the scene, talking in great detail about the characters that the story is about.

From an early age we are told these stories, to keep us entertained and they always start by setting the scene, talking in great detail about the characters that the story is about.

The Beginning: Set the Scene

The beginning is the part of the story that allows the reader to paint a picture of the world in which we a submersed into. It explores the journalistic technique of six w’s and an H. These are who, what, why, when, when and how.

In the beginning these stories are trying to capture the viewers imagination and hold their attention to keep reading by engaging them with an overview of what they will discover as they continue to read the book.

The Middle: Take the Reader on a Journey

In the middle the reader is allowed to understand where the journey is leading and what will happen near the end.

End: Conclusion

The end concludes by wrapping up the story, with a final chapter on the characters or narrative. When we have finished reading the book, we are often left with questions, which are mainly what should we do now?

A VIDEO STORY

The Beginning: Grab the Viewers Attention

An effective video should follow these same rules. In the beginning it should grab the viewers attention whilst still allowing the viewer to understand the who, what and why. This can be in the form of a combination of powerful visuals, engaging voice over, or clever animation.

The Middle: Take the Viewer on a Journey

The middle part of the video should be guiding the viewer through a journey to explore the why and how their products or services can help them to solve a problem.

The End: Call to Action

The end should leave the viewer with a question of what to do next? We call this the call to action, this is asking the viewer to get involved with the video by picking up the phone, emailing or visiting the website for more information.

Our Approach

At Mediabox Productions we follow this simple but effective rule for each video that we produce. This ensures that we can plan the video effectively by structuring the video into these three parts.

Planning this way ensures that we focus on keeping the viewer entertained, informed and inspired.
