PROJECT BRIEF

Telford Infant School required a promotional video to showcase their place of learning to prospective parents. We were asked to provide filming and editing for the project. The video would serve as a tour and allow parents to hear first hand why their children would love learning as much as the children that go there.

THE CHALLENGE

The school were so passionate about their “Loving Learning” mantra that we wanted to capture this in the children’s voices but also to reflect how the children thrive in an enjoyable and challenging curriculum. It was important to the school that the children led the video and not the staff members. They wanted the children to be the focus of the video and the natural comments that they make about the school were captured. We would also be filming during social distancing measures, so we had to ensure that we operated at a safe distance, wore the appropriate PPE and put the children at ease in front of the camera.

THE SOLUTION

We decided that the children had to lead the video and wanted them to give natural responses to why they “loved learning” at Telford infant school so much.  Working with the staff, we devised a set of questions to ask the children about their school life. We used the answers they gave to film b roll in and around the school, capturing all of the many activities that the children were doing as part of their curriculum. We kept the visuals fun, engaging and quick paced, so that the prospective parents could get a real sense of what their children could experience at the school.
